Gerety Talks with Andrea Cook, CEO and Founder of IPG’s new data-driven creative agency network, Performance Art.
Just like the award show, the Gerety Talks series puts some of the marketing and creative industry’s true changemakers in the spotlight and at the centre of the conversation for a refreshing take on what leadership looks like. Named for Frances Gerety, the copywriter who in 1948 coined the slogan "A diamond is forever”. The Gerety Awards brings together a jury to select the best in advertising that resonates most with a female audience, creating a benchmark that is relevant to the market reality, all while redefining the standard to which advertising has traditionally been held.
Andrea is equal parts data geek and creative storyteller, she is known throughout the industry as a change agent and visionary leader with a relentless drive and a track record of success. With more than two decades of communications experience, she’s highly skilled in the art of connecting brands to consumers in the digital and data age, always with her finger on the pulse of what’s new and what’s next. She’s a frequent speaker at conferences on topics spanning from ‘women in leadership’ to ‘connecting data and creativity’, and she is a prolific publisher of thought leadership.
Andrea has spent a career mentoring and advocating for women, including launching the Canadian chapter of ‘Times Up-Advertising’ and leading the Cannes ‘See It Be It’ program since 2016. In 2020, she was recognized for ‘Leading the Charge’ at Campaign US’s Female Frontier Awards; in 2021, she was nominated for Executive of the Year by AdAge; and she has just been named to Campaign US 40 Over 40 for 2022. Andrea’s a mom to three daughters who are, without a doubt, what she is most proud of.
