'Running Start' is the new podcast that’s been designed to run to.
Creative agency Verve/Showrunner has collaborated with healthcare company, Vhi, to create 'Running Start' - a podcast that’s been especially designed to run to. The purpose built running podcast is a perfect blend of music and spoken word, consisting of 5 episodes of increasing length. This unique format helps listeners build up to running 10k gradually, hitting a new milestone with each episode, based on the average runner’s time for 2k, 4k, 6k, 8k and 10k.
The podcast has been launched to mark the company’s continued sponsorship of the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, Ireland’s largest female-focused running event.
The episodes themselves all feature uplifting stories from an eclectic mix of inspirational women in Ireland - such as Aimee Connolly (Sculpted by Aimee), Una Healy (Singer/presenter), Jess Murphy (Founder and chef of Kai restaurant), Cora Staunton (Mayo GAA legend) and Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen (Authors of the Aisling book series). These interviews are paired with music that's specifically composed to keep you moving, with the perfect BPM rates for running, created by female electronic duo, SYLK.
The project was created, produced and developed by Verve/Showrunner, and was sound-mixed and recorded in new Dublin sound studio, Scimitar Sound, with interviews researched and conducted by Stephanie Ford.
“We wanted to create something that would genuinely help people start running, and keep them out running longer and longer with each session. Podcasts can provide engaging content and inspiration for longer runs, but they lack the necessary beat and tempo you need from a music track. So we combined elements of both to create the perfect tool to run to," said Sam Moorhead, creative partner at Verve/Showrunner.
Running start is the perfect way for anyone to start running, whether it’s for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon or any 10k route. So if you’re ready to start running, find it here on Spotify, iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts.
