McCann London Names Jemima Monies as Chief Operating Officer

Moves from adam&eveDDB to newly created role at flagship creative agency

McCann London Names Jemima Monies as Chief Operating Officer

McCann London announced today that the agency has named Jemima Monies as chief operating officer - a newly created role - starting in early 2023. Monies is the first executive leadership appointment made by CEO Polly McMorrow since her arrival at the agency in April 2022. Jemima will oversee a range of operational business areas and joins the McCann London leadership team.

Jemima brings a track record of notable industry success and expertise to McCann, joining from adam&eveDDB where she is currently chief marketing and operations officer, after progressing rapidly from New Business Director (2013) and Deputy MD (2018.) During her nine-year tenure at the agency she played a key role in helping the agency double in size, win five Campaign Agency of the Year awards and Campaign Agency of the Decade in 2019. She previously worked at J Walter Thompson (now Wunderman Thompson) and MCBD. Before joining the advertising industry, she worked as a reporter at Campaign’s former sister title, Marketing.

“I am beyond excited that Jemima is joining us. Her mercurial sense of how to get the best from people, process and the industry at large is something I have admired from afar. I think she is going to have a big impact on our business and that of our clients,” said Polly.

Chris Macdonald, global CEO, McCann commented, “The strength of our London office is critical for our global clients, and it has an enviable track record for creativity that drives our clients’ businesses and brands. We are delighted with Polly’s impact since she joined earlier this year and, with Rob and Lolly, the team are building a creative culture where the best talent in the industry want to live, work, and thrive. Jemima is a fantastic addition to the agency, and I can’t wait to see what they will achieve together in 2023.”

This appointment follows a host of industry accolades for the agency including recent success at the Clios, including one Grand and two Gold - in partnership with Craft London and scoring a raft of awards at the Campaign UK BIG Awards and Campaign US Awards for long-standing clients, eBay and Xbox. This success follows a year of break-out work ranging from Katy Perry’s ‘Did Somebody Say Just Eat’, to hard-hitting anti-knife crime campaign, ‘Depzman: Life Cut Short’ to launching The Unofficial England Shirt with Show Racism The Red Card; partnering with Nurofen on their innovative, Gender Pain Gap initiative, to playing a key role in Aldi’s recent Christmas campaign featuring the inimitable Kevin the Carrot ‘Home Alone.’

Commenting on her new role Monies said: “adam&eveDDB is an incredibly hard place to leave. I feel privileged to have worked with some of the industry’s best talent, who will be friends for life, and have learnt and celebrated more than I could have ever imagined. After nine years however, I am curious to see how I can make an impact in a different business environment. I am very excited by the opportunity to work with the brilliant team at McCann who are building a creative agency fit for the future and can’t wait to be part of the team who will drive the agency to further success as we embark on an exciting next chapter.”
