Electric Theatre Collective Does the East Coast

Electric joins sister company Friends Electric to team up with powerhouse Miss Smith for East Coast representation

Electric Theatre Collective Does the East Coast

The post pandemic world has seen the dilution of the tenet that a geographical footprint is the sole gateway to working transatlantic. There are tons of benefits to working across time zones, something that Electric has been acutely focused on highlighting. Over the last three years, Electric has been working with both throughout the US across its VFX, Design and Friends Electric businesses via their London studio and their LA production outpost. It produced Superbowl spots for the likes of Mountain Dew, Stella Artois, Twizzlers & Google as well as huge brand campaigns for Instacart, Axe, Accenture and Apple, among others, proving that transatlantic really works.

After much success building a portfolio of work and relationships that prove that you can make it happen, Electric has decided to join its sister company Friends Electric to team up with the powerhouse that is Miss Smith, for East Coast representation. Miss Smith will exclusively rep the entire Electric Group, consisting of ETC, Friends Electric & the recently launched design arm, Electric Studios.

“We’ve worked with Sasha & Jamie for a long time now through our production company, Friends Electric, and this is really the next step in helping us connect the dots on the East Coast. Miss Smith are incredible, they completely understand our ethos and support our vision for the future. We have great existing relationships with their roster, particularly Object & Animal and Knucklehead.

UK studios can be a massive attraction for brands and clients in the states. We can be more competitive on rates and budgets than our US counterparts whilst being the epicentre of artist talent. The past few years have seen us grow to a staff of 120 employees and we’ve invested heavily in our hybrid infrastructure. We can host seamless real time reviews across a number of softwares. We even have a stock of colour calibrated iPad and even grade one monitors ready to be shipped to anywhere in the world, which has massively enhanced the experience of remote colour grading, arguably one of the parts of the process that is hugely dependent on an interactive session. So we’ve put a real emphasis on bridging the gap for our US collaborators and I’m excited to continue to grow our output” said Jon Purton, MD at Electric.

Electric have been fortunate enough to be recognised as the VFX company of the year in Europe across a number of awards over the past two years, so they’re excited to work with new creatives in the US to bring their visions to life.

“Working with Friends Electric and Belinda over the years has been such a pleasure. Belinda is super collaborative and her knowledge in animation, design and production is an amazing resource both practically and creatively. We are thrilled to help expand the rest of the Electric Groups offerings. We have been huge fans of ETC for years and are excited to help launch Electric Studios. The level of talent throughout the ETC Group is so impressive and we are inspired to be part of their team.” says Sasha and Jamie from Miss Smith.
